When using the machine the time and date to the dials on the board need to be set to a desired time. Then the solar cylinders power source compress the machine into subatomic particles resulting in thermodynamic suspension of molecular activity. This allows the machine to cross the journey across the fourth dimension from one time sphere to another. The Time Machine has a safety lock which automatically returns to its starting date unless you have the key to countermand the device.
